Why is everything gray? Why the listless expression? WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

Well, it’s pretty simple. I think at times, life can feel colorless. For me, it’s usually seasonal. This fall and winter have been especially rough because I’ve been sick for many of the months. It’s important to face these colorless moments and find things to cherish in them. Sadness is inevitable. Feeling negativity or being overwhelmed by it is human. Coping with depression reflects the strength of a person’s character as much as anything. I use photography. It’s a natural medium to share perspectives.

So… Why is everything gray? It’s all gray because it’s a reflection of my life and perspective. Importantly, there’s still happiness and beauty in my monochrome world. Things just aren’t as colorful as they usually are. That feeling can be isolating. It’s difficult to watch others distill life’s essence in a richer form.

But like all things, this will pass. The colors will slowly seep back into my life. If your life starts looking like a scene from Citizen Kane—don’t sweat it.

Things won’t be this gray forever. Keep going!
