Choices

If forced to choose,

I’d say goodbye to it all,

The comforting embrace of a warm breeze–

I’m warmer beside her,

The everlasting days–

Seconds with her are a lifetime of sunlight,

The hours spent entranced by the ocean–

I’d rather surf the waves that crash in her thighs,

I love you, Summer,

But I would choose her.

If forced to choose,

I’d say goodbye to it all,

What outshines pink, purple, and blue skies?

Blonde hair, porcelain skin, and sage eyes,

Is there a more fleeting beauty?

No, her’s never fades,

Can anything float like clouds in twilight?

Each word she whispers hovers indelibly in my mind,

I found solace in the sunset,

But I’d accept a colorless transition from day to night,

If I could have her.

For you, I’d say goodbye to it all,

The sunset, the summer,

And even the colored leaves of fall.
